In Alaska you dont have to register long guns or hand guns right? Does this mean that the government does not have any knowledge you own the gun? Or do you have to like sign something when you buy it so they know? Thanks

Guns are not required to be registered in Alaska. If you purchase from a licensed gun dealer, the gun dealer is required to perform a background check through the federal government to ensure that you are qualified to own a gun. However, no such check is required when purchasing through a private party.
Like the rest of the US, there's that 4473. It's possible for a gun to be traced, to an extent, if bought from a dealer. In theory, Uncle Sam isn't allowed to use 4473's as a registry, but the occasional agency has been caught with its hand in the cookie jar.
You have to register hand guns, but do not need a permit to carry them. Alaska is a Constitutional Carry state.
Yup.
