Recently I've been shedding alot of hair, I went to check with my doctor and he said it would eventually grow back because it is temporary, and said it was due to hormones (I'm 14).. It's been a while.. and nothing's changed, my hair line is actually extending to the back of my head..
Umm.. well, do you think it would grow back..? And.. does anyone know how long this might take?

Actually i have a different point of view with the response above me!
Not to misdirect you or any thing, but i don't have too much faith in doctors! i know, sound the bit preposterous! they just happen to be wrong a lot, in my case! use your common sense too.
Any how, on one of these occasions, i met a doctor who told me that, i will loose my hair and blah, blah, blah....i came out of his office like it was end of my time!!! you know! some times people are sensitive about certain things!!!! OK, that was 17 years ago!! he was fool of it!
So i guess, my point would be, doctors can be wrong too! and again, it's happened to me more than once!
Back to your Que., i kinda agree with what doc. said and it's possible, specially, since you're 14. Beside, hair falls periodically in any ones lives and grow back again. So, don't worry much and see what happens.
One more thing, is this been running in your family? If yes and there's a pattern in your family and god forbid, your condition gets worsen, there're variety of pro. hair spray you could use, like Rogaine %5 Minoxidil solution, but talk to your doc. first. It'll help a lot.
Hi There,
I suggest seeing another doctor to get a second opinion. There has to be a reason for your hair loss, 14 is too young to be losing a lot of hair. You could be entering the first stages of Alopecia, or it could have something to with your diet or stress levels. I doubt your doctor is lying to you, but he/she might just have a different opinion. Consult another doctor, probably a a dermatologist specializing in hair and scalp dissorders.
You're still too young for restoration surgery, Propecia and Rogaine, but you wouldn't want to use those for this situation anyways.
I keep a blog about hair loss and the methods used to correct. I recommend checking out the Alopecia section. I think you'll find it useful.
Let me know if you have any questions not answered on the blog.
Best,
Seth
Believe in your doctor....
Love your doctor.
Be your doctor.
Just messing with you.
But I'm sure your doctor wouldn't lie unless he's just being an a**.
