It seems to me that everyone is afraid of calling things what they are. We chose alternate names for people or things to avoid hurting someones feelings. However it seems to me that calling some one visually impaired versus blind or an african-american instead of black shows fear of who or what they are. Am i the only person who feels this way
Update:keep in mind the references i used were just off the top of my head the list could go on for pages and still not even cover the ones we use the most commonly
Update 3:It is not just the bed-wetting Liberals who are prone to this i have seen both sides of the fence have tendency to use Politically correct terms

I think it stems from people looking to get offended. They want the attention. As for the people that cower and go along with the "politically correct" terms, well they just have white guilt and are afraid to tell it how it is. No liberal can handle any kind of criticism. Try it, they get mad really fast!
I have never met a black person who was offended by my calling them black rather then African-American.
I don't know any blind people......
In general political correctness has gotten a bit ridiculous.
Use all the racial slurs and bigoted remarks you like.
It's your character which will be judged by your words and action.
Or is it that you are demanding the rest of the world be politically sensitive to you in specific? Look at you right now, you are asking for attention while trying to demonstrate how you have been victimized by the convention of basic courtesy. Boohoo poor you.
