Assuming we're talking about UK here, then with biology, chemistry and maths you can apply to every UK med school (well, you can only apply to four in any given year, but you know what I mean!). The BTEC health & social care doesn't do you any favours, but neither does it stop you from applying given that the three A-levels you're doing are enough. Now all you need to do is get at least AAA in your three A-levels (and nobody really cares what you get in the BTEC, if I'm honest!), as that's what is required for every med school - if you can have at least one A* among them, so much the better.
I wanted to do medicine, but now I have applied for biomedical science instead. for Medicine at the end of A-level you need 3 A including 2 science subjects e.g. bio, chem, etc. The Btec I think will be fine, as the level of qualification depending what level you do will probably be equivalent to an a-level. So do not worry :)
Yes you need very good A level results for medicine. Never ever do BTEC if you want to go to university. For a subject like medicine it is a bad idea.
