So today I went to the dentist. She said I had no cavity's. Being the worry wart I am I checked my teeth in the mirror when i got home. I didn't see anything then I took a flashlight and found a light brown small hole in my tooth. Im scared to tell my dentist anything because Ive never had one before and the spot is painless. The main reason I don't want to to tell is because if it is I'm so scared of needles, yet i don't want it to get so far that i'd need a root canal if it is a cavity. What could this be? Surely she would have told me if it was a cavity right?? Please help :(

Is it on the biting surface of a molar or pre-molar? These teeth usually have grooves, pits, and fissures that can pick up stain and look like cavities. These are the areas that dental sealants are applied to, as they can be deep, and difficult to keep plaque out of.
I'm enclosing a link below that shows a picture of a molar highlighting the deep grooves and pits. If you are at all concerned, speak to the dentist again, and ask if you are a candidate for sealants. They last about 5 years, and prevent decay by forming a mechanical barrier between the tooth and the plaque.
***Hope this helped!
Yes it is a cavity. You must consult your dentist and you will not have to scared of the needle as he will only cleaned your teeth and for that no needle is required so do not worry a lot. Just go to your dentist.
sounds like a hypercondriac condition...
