You could get excused for a music exam at the local conservatory or music school, but not at your music teachers. Whatever you are studying in Home Economics will have some use in the future, more use even that mathematics or English. Unless you have enough money that you can spend $50 per day on meals for yourself, less if you plan on only eating burgers at every meal, you need to learn to cook. Knowing how to sew, do laundry and even knit will also permit you to save money. If they dump parenting skills into the HE course, then you definitely need to take that. A child will drive you crazy. You need to know everything possible in order to cope or avoid.
