Please someone if you have any ideas let me know! Okay so I started birth control for the first time on Nov. 19th, I took it everyday on time and never missed a pill. My last period was Oct 11th-13th. It comes every 3 weeks and 3 days like clockwork and is never very long, soo I was expecting it around Nov 7th but I know that taking birth control can mess with your cycle so when it didn't come I wasn't worried. I had sex on the 6th, 8th and the 10th. I still have yet to start my period, 2 weeks after I was expecting it to come. Last weekend I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative but my question is where the heck is my period?! I've come to 2 conclusions, 1- one of the days I had sex got me pregnant and it's just too early to pick up on an at home test or 2- it's just the birth control messing me up. Last weekend and a few days ago I had a tiny bit of dark brown discharge but then it just disappeared. SO that being said does anyone have any ideas? How long should birth control postpone a period? Any thoughts will help at this point.
Thanks!
Update:The birth control is Yaz. I did the sunday start and took it the sunday after my period. I've made an appointment with the dr but the wait is ridiculous and they couldnt see me till the 2nd week of Dec. I was just trying to calm my nerves before then or at least make some sense of it.

It could just be the birth control. Pregnancy and pill can have similar side affects, the only sure way to know is to take a test, or see your doctor.
What kind of BC are you on? If it's the mini-pill that you take everyday with no breaks, it can take a couple of months to get on a regular cycle. If it's the regular pill that has 7 days of placebo pills after 3 weeks of hormone, you should not be waiting for your period.
There are some BC pills that you take for 3 months consecutively, and that will give you a period 4 times a year.
Did you start your first BC pill at the right time. it's usually a day one period start, or a "Sunday" start. Check the directions with your OB/GYN.
So for sure, go back to your doctor and explain what's going on.
They can tell you if you're pregnant, and if not, get you on the correct pill and get your cycle going again.
Follow instruction to a tee. Most pills have a website for their brand with good instructions.
Hmmm. Well, I hope for your sake it's just the pill messing with your cycle - that's perfectly normal. However, you really should have waited until you'd been taking the pill for a full month before having otherwise unprotected sex. The pill takes about a month to be effective. But if you're HPT was negative I reckon you're ok.
I hated what delivery administration did to me. i grew to become into drained, have been given problems, grew to become into hormonal, had nausea with vomiting. I have been given even worse when I went off of it (my physique did no longer like it when I went off of the hormones). delivery administration could have being pregnant indications. With some human beings the side consequences pass away as they get used to it. My conventional practitioner mentioned to grant it 3 months and notice how i think. My indications went away and then got here decrease back. the sole thank you to nicely known is to take a attempt in case you are not getting your era. it somewhat is problematical and that's the reason females call it the two week wait.
