I try my best at school . And my parents encourage me to become a doctor, engineer, or a lawyer. I did not decide what I want to be, and my parents criticize me saying study better, Then my parents compare me with other close people saying they get 95%+ average. It depresses me and makes me feel bad. Whenever I feel depressed I try to be opptimistic, but from what my parents tell me, if I don't get 95%+, my life will be like hell... Is it true?
Update:My average is 87%.

Your life will be hell if you live YOUR life or make decisions to make other people happy. We all want our parents approval and want them to be proud of us, however you are the one who has to live your life and do what makes you happy. That's your road to happiness, when you know you are doing your best, then that's all that matters. If 87% is your absolute best, then be happy with that. If you believe that you can strive higher than 87%and that will make you happy, then do what ever makes you happy. Only be a lawyer, doctor, or engineer if YOU want to become those. Honestly, if you go into those programs and you don't want to do any of those things, you won't succeed. Those areas take hard work and determination, and a passion of desire to accomplish those goals. Sorry my answer is so long, I'm getting my Masters in Counseling and my mom wanted to me to become a lawyer. In the end, DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY!!!
hell no an 87% average is really good...you could get into almost any college with that...the only reason parents push you get a 95% is because they want you to get scholarships in other words a free ride and they don't have to pay for it or you don't have to get student loans...remember it is your life do what you want to do. If you cant get a 95% average and just an 87% average don't worry about it.
Definitely not! Do what YOU think will be best for your life. Don't let your parents make decisions for you about your future, it might make you unhappy in the end...
My parents pressure me with grades, but I just do the best I can. If it's not enough for them oh well!
I hope this helps you. :)
