I'm 36 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary shortly. We'd love to go somewhere to celebrate our last anniversary 'sans bebe', but are realistic about our constraints: no flying (obviously going abroad is out), somewhere with a hospital a reasonable distance away (just in case), somewhere pregnancy-friendly and that doesn't require a whole lot of walking/stair-climbing. We live in the West Midlands (UK)- does anyone have any ideas where we can go? I suppose we can celebrate at home, but we really want to make this one special. Thanks very much!

What about just one or two nights in a really gorgeous hotel? I stayed in one in the Midlands not so long ago - it was out of this world - I'll just have to try and remember the name ... brb ...
Edit: Here you go - it's the New Hall Hotel: http://newhalluk.com/index.php
It's not far from you and it's simply stunning. Here's a tip - book via www.laterooms.com for a good rate. Enjoy!
It would be good to research on google maps where a quaint little village nearbly to you would be, within a reasonable distance from a hospital of course! Maybe somewhere about an hour or so drive away, Google maps will give you directions and you can plan your distances from the hospital etc..
If you can find somewhere, preferably with a beach, find a nice bed and breakfast for a couple of nights, go out for dinner together and have romantic walks along the beach, picnics etc....enjoy your last moments of being two before the little one comes along!!
Good luck with the birth! im due in 11 days!
well i am going away to alicante end of august and i will be about 30 weeks so will def be flying you could go to the lakes windermere is lovely i would not say blackpool as i live there and august time can be mad busy but it's ok if your staying before the kids break up from school and it's not far from the lakes so you could have a day out there or southport is nice to but if you do want to go there i can tell you a cheap hotel my fiancee is from the midlands and he stays there at weekends she charges about £30 a night each and it's right on the sea front hope this helps
Go to Hoar Cross Hall in Stafford. It is a spa and lovely hotel. They do special packages for mums to be involving massages etc. They also do special packages for men. A couple of days here will re energise you and relax you enough to be in tip top shape for the birth. It can be quite expensive for a couple of days but as it is your anniversary and your last holiday as a couple, it will be worth it.
Good luck, happy anniversary and congratulations xx
I lovely bed and breakfast or hotel make sure there is a nice resturants you can get to paris by train or ferry!!!! let him pamper you its also nice to go to a spa with him or a hotel with a wellness centre included just relax in the pool and enjoy.. me and my two sister in laws went into labour at 37 weeks so make sure you are near a hospital and take your folder with you !!! good luck congrats on bub and 3 years ..
it is not advised for you to travel right now... you should talk to your dr or midwife before doing this... my husband and i will be celebrating our 1 year anniversary and our baby is due around the same time... we are going to spend the first one at home and go somewhere big next year... i would just hold out on going anywhere. you cant fly, and you are not going to be too happy with riding long distances either... maybe hit a bed and breakfast close to your home or hospital!
Maybe a spa treatment? or stay a few days in a resort and just enjoy the pool? someplace that is not too far.
i would say some where nice, relaxing, quite but not to remote so if you go into labour you can go to the hospital, a nice caravan park and good luck
how about wales or blackpool.
i live in wales the north and it is lovelly and enough to do with out to much walking
Buffet ... all you can eat !
