The ONLY way you can lose weight is by doing cardio. Lifting weights and doing pullups will do nothing but build muscle (which you may not be able to see under fat.)
Losing weight involves burning more calories than you consume. Try cutting out calories. Eat low fat, switch to skim milk, avoid sugary desserts and drinks like candies, baked goods, soda, coffee, and fruit juices (although drinkng diluted fruit juice would be a good alternative.)
Begin doing serious cardiovascular exercise. You could jog on the treadmill, use an elliptical, ride a bike, use the rowing machine, etc. Try to do at least an hour a day. You can go slow at first and slowly increase in time.
You must burn 3,500 calories to lose one pound of fat. Since you want to lose 10 pounds, that translates out to 35,000 calories. Just remember that you should still consume a safe amount of calories each day. Don't go below about 1,400 or 1,500 calories since it will confuse your body into thinking that it is starving. In turn, your metabolism will slow down despite all the exercise, and when you stop the diet/exercise regime, you will quickly gain back all the weight you lost and then some.
Good luck to you!
