How can I trace a Gmail email?
I want to trace a Gmail email. For instance [email protected] I want to be able to trace the IP of the gmail account. I have tried different programs with no success.
Update:No you cannot trace Gmail that way.

You can not do so. Gmail strips the originating IP completely. You can never resolve a Gmail account to discover the sending address.
Also as Gmail is internet based there is not always one originating IP: people use it from work, home internet cafe's etc.
The same is true with Google Talk - unlike MSN messenger - there is no way to trace the IP as all messages are passed through Google Talk servers using the Jabber protocol and no IP address information is transmitted.

they're required by using regulation to maintain all IP records for no less than 2 years, so definite, besides the actuality that i'd think of that bin encumbered's stooges would be clever sufficient to apply proxies/spoofers/and so on, or to no longer do some thing so dimwitted and pointless in the 1st place. till of direction you made an "Osama bin encumbered" Gmail account and concept you have been being humorous, wherein case you will better placed your affairs so as in the previous the feds kick your door down and arrest your sorry, stupid butt.
Check the email headers for the originating IP address. It's there in Yahoo, but it may be different with Gmail.
