I was at a set of lights, stopped, and it turned green. There were 4 cars in front of me, and the second car slammed on the brakes. I ended up hitting the car in front of me going 2 kph. He didn't move, and the only damage once we pulled over to the side of the road was a scratch half the size of a dime on his rear bumper. I wasn't going to call the police to report it, but he said he had to because he worked for the government and it was a fleet vehicle.
After 2.5 hours on the side of the road waiting for police, I ended up with a 'following too closely' ticket for $110. I wasn't sure I wanted to pay it because there was such little damage, not to mention that I couldn't see the tiny scratch again because of all the other scratches on the bumper of this car. But I wasn't sure how to fight it. So I paid it a few weeks later.
Now, I have found out that in paying that ticket, I have incurred 4 demerit points. If I had known that I would get points for that, I definitely would never have paid the ticket.
And so now I am stuck on how to appeal that conviction. I don't want those points on my record for the next 2 years.
If anyone can help advise me on what my next step is, that would be great.
Thank you!
Update:How do I appeal a conviction after the fact without going to XCopper or whoever

You can't appeal your own plea.
