If someone could give me a detailed description on how to record videos of my game-play onto my computer and tell me what kind of hardware I need to purchase (if needed, and where to purchase it) and how to hook it up so I can get the recording happening.
That'd be wonderful and thanks for any help anyone has to offer.

Hi there! I always record my gameplay in the best possible settings, and it turns out great. Here is some help.
Buy a Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition. The reason for the gamimg edition is that you wont need extra cables. This costs $200.00 as an online only order from Gamestop.com.
Make sure you have an HD TV. If not, this whole entire process will go down the drain.
If you have Mac or Windows use iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker for low end editing. For cool effects I really recommend Adobe After Effects, it also is great for rendering in high quality. Most people use Torrents to get it because it is around $900.00, but doing that is illegal.
In order to get everything hooked up, search on YouTube. Text tutorials are really too hard for this kind of thing.
After the setup, install the drivers and program that comes with your PVR. Once completed, open the recording program and click capture. To end recording click stop.
You can search online for how to get the best input/output settings. Hope this helped.
Your television doesn't remember. you want to direction your xbox output to a laptop with a video capture card or to a stand on my own capture gadget like those made by utilising dazzle or pinacle.
