Get a pal pad from the nurse in the basement of the pokemon center after getting one gym badge, then be issued your own friend code, then go online and get friend codes from other players and click register friend code on pal pad and enter name and code.
You have to have a pal pad in the key items. You can get it at the bottom if the Pokemon center. On the pal pad it says register friend code (It is in the middle.) Type in the person's name and then press o.k and type in their friend code. And that's how you get friend codes.
2 get 1 install wifi on ur ds & go to the basement fl. of the pkmn cntr and tak 2 the lady & check pal pad. on pal pad, it also has an option to add a friend. enter name and fc and viola! u've enterd and got a fc
