Pull up parallel to the car you intend to park behind so your rear bumpers are opposite each other.
Back up, straight back one foot.
Turn the wheel hard right and continue backing until his trunk lock is lined up in the middle of your passanger door.
Turn the wheel left of center and continue backing, looking rearward now.
Try and line up your car's rear lights with the back car's headlights as you back up. If he is in a good position alongside the crub, just back up in line with him. If he is too far out, make an adjusment closer than he is.
When you are parrallel to the curb, straighten your wheels out and pull forward to center yourself between the cars. Set the brake.
You're there! Works everytime. I've had tourists give me applause after backing into a really tight space with a big SUV on the frst try. I learned to drive in NYC.
I pull up beside the car on my left--to about when the back bumper of the car beside me is even with the bar between the front seat and back door of my car. Put the car into reverse. Turn the wheel to the right sharply--backing slowly a little more than half way into the parking space. Stop--turn the wheel sharply to the left. continue backing into the spot--looking and judging if everything is correct. That is the way I learned to park--parallel. I love parking this way. Good Luck
