How long do withdraw symptoms last from Seraquel?
I went off Seaquel about ten days ago at the doctors request because my platelets were so low. I was then put on ambien the nexd day. I started experiancing hot flashes and nausea. I stopped the ambien two days ago. The hot flashes stopped but I still have a lot of nausea. My Dr. said that she doesnt feel it was the ambien or seraquel, and that seraquel is supose to be out of your system after 24 hours. Please help. I feel sooo sick. Now I am taking tylonal pm for sleep..ugh!
Update:I was on Seraquel for years.

Well, I'm not a doctor, and don't take anything I say as medical advice. However, having made the mistake of taking the pills my doctor gave me, assuring me they would make everything all better, I am of the opinion that your doctor is an idiot. Withdrawals from seroquel can be severe, and can last up to six weeks and in some cases much longer. Some of the things seroquel do to your brain are permanent. To make things worse, it only takes one week of ambien to cause withdrawals when you quit. And both ambien and seroquel cause severe insomnia when you quit taking them. Giving you ambien to help recover from seroquel is about the stupidest thing a doctor could do.
Seroquel withdrawals can cause nausea, dizziness, severe insomnia, and a whole slew of other symptoms. Seroquel is a nasty drug. But switching you from seroquel to ambien is like going from the frying pan into the fire. Withdrawals from seroquel are over in weeks, months at the worst, but withdrawals from long term ambien can last over a year.

I think your doctor may be right. I was on Seroquel for 3 months. I was told to stop it and I did. I had no reactions at all form stopping it. Ambien also I was on and I stopped it without any problems.
