How often do exes remain actual platonic friends?
My ex left me and said we could be friends a while later when the breakup isn't so fresh. He also knew I wasn't over him. But now months later I am over him (but we never talk so he wouldn't know that). If he ever did reach out to be friends with me, would it truly be able to have just a platonic friendship ?

I have always believed that "let's be friends" is nothing more than a weak attempt at soothing the breakup pain, and is not generally even intended to be considered a realistic offer. It's just a cliche people say, like, "It isn't you, it's me."
