I have several bowls/pipes and i was wondering how to clean the completely with common household items. Most of my pipes are fumed glass and some have twists in them. I know about using a paper clip, rubbing alcohol and salt and boiling but they never get it 100% clean. I was wondering if there were any other ways to clean them without harming the piece.
Thanks

You might consider immersion in a mild solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), dissolved in warm water. This technique will not be suitable for absorbent materials such as meerschaum. Try it with a piece you wouldn't mind parting with first, though.
I bought some stuff from a local store. It's most of the time the same mix as what you were utilising, however that they had me cover all the holes, besides the mouth piece, fill it with an even blend of 'salt' and 'alcohol' and shake it vigorously for one minute. It doesn't get all of it out, however then I just went again in with a q-tip dipped in the cleaner and acquired the rest. It commonly relies so much on how resin-y your pipe is, too. Simply preserve working at it. Use a pipe cleaner from a craft store. They're low priced and fit into some thing.
Try putting it in a dish filled with water and tossing in an efferdent tablet and let it set overnight. It gets dentures clean so it should clean the resins out.
