You can close pores with cold water; just splash it on your face.

A combination of 2 things, they're clogged, and genetics. Some people just have bigger pores. There are many different treatments on the market that help with reducing the size of your pores, but you can't fight genetics, if that's what you're dealing with. If they're clogged (ie: blackheads) you can use those biore strips to help pull out the blackheads, and there are different deep pore cleansing products out there. Make sure you keep your face exfoliated, use a scrub no more than 2-3 times a week. Make sure you also use a toner that would be suitable for your skin type. The trouble with the biore strips is that yeah, they unclog the pore, but if you have larger pores to begin with, you're left with a small hole (that will get clogged again). Just make sure you keep your skin healthy.

use a cleanser, toner and moisturiser suitable for your skin type. the body shop is good, they have ranges of products containing natural ingredients for every skin type.

to close pores, splash your face with cold water, or dip it in cold water with some blocks of ice in. egg white put on your skin for 10-15 mins shrinks pores and blemishes.

Use steam to open your pores, clean your face and then splash cold water on your face to close them back up! Cheaper than that commercial stuff and works just as well!

To open up your pores get a washcloth and run it under steaming HOT water. Hold it to the pore you want to open up, wash your face, and then run an ice cube over them to close 'em. Works for me. n_n
