Driving, it looks as if you'll have to take I-5 north until it runs into CA-14 north.
By train, you may be able to catch the Metrolink at least as far as Palmdale, if not all the way to Lancaster.
I'm not sure about the bus lines involved. Try www.greyhound.com to see if you can ride the big dog out there.

the train Amtrak it take 4 to 5 day get there
the car it take 4 day get there
bus greyhound is take 3 day no stop
fly take 6 hrs there and then take train or bus to lancaster
