I just got a holga and started loading it. I followed all the instructions in the manual and even watched youtube videos but my concern is, why when i wind the wheel to see the number "1" in the red window, that number 1 is upside down?
i know the black side has to be facing inside the camera so is this okay? or did i do something wrong?
And can i start shooting when it is at number 1 already?

For 120 film, upside down numbers is normal.
I have a few how-to videos for Holga on my youtube channel:

Don't ignore basic technique. When I shot my first Holga roll, I thought, "This is cool because it's so low-tech! I'll just shoot without thinking and that will make it even more low-tech and therefore even cooler!" As a result, I got bad pictures. Don't stop composing your photos. They'll be "wrong" enough without your help. It's still your job to make them not boring. Plan ahead of time to print full frame. The vignetting can look good, but not if you crop it out of square and make some edges light and some dark. Ick! Don't leave the camera kicking around too long with unexposed film inside. Load, shoot, and unload to cut down on light leaks.
