What is your Big Hairy Audacious Goal. If you don't have a subject and don't have a goal you will be wasting alot of time. So far you've told us the presentation is about a communications subject. You could do something on meetings and why meetings don't work. Go into task oriented behavior and how that gets in the way of creative thinking or thematic protocol. Also, you could relate how some kind of personality types are helpful to a meeting and how some kind of personality types defeat the purpose of a meeting. For a 3 minutd speech you should have at least 5 pages double spaced. The conclusion is also important. Without a memorable conclusion you don't stand a chance of getting a good grade. How about this, the reason most groups fail is that the individual group members have no idea what the other people in the group are supposed to be doing. This happens at work, at church and in many non-profits. Basically, what would help is if people talked to eachother more. Good luck.
