I'm very good with finance and I would like to have a job that allows me to have clients.
I just graduated with my accounting degree.
I've been trying to get internships and job experience for 4 years now, but nobody will even interview me.
It's hard to write cover letters and resumes that get attention if you don't have anything of value to put down.
What types of jobs should I apply for? What companies?
My social network has no connections to anything in the financial industry.
I attended a networking event and felt like an idiot because I had nothing to talk about other than what "I want to do".
I even tried to get bank teller jobs as a way to get my foot in the door with the financial industry, but no luck.
Am I just too old now? I"m 28

When you say financial planner do you mean personal or business finance such as accounting or do you speak of investment type financial planning like most companies offer? If it is finance such as budgeting and accounting I have a virtual position for someone. Good luck Bob
I assume by financial planner u mean investment advisory kind of job. Well just an accounting degree wont get u into this field. Do some courses on financial planning. And if u think u got good knowledge of securities, mutual funds, insurance, etc. than try working on your own. Start with mutual funds, meet them and tell them that ur interested in becoming their advisor.
There can be pages to answer ur question, but hope I provided few pointers.
(And if by financial planner u mean corporate finance / treasury kind of profile than it's altogether different ball-game and u would need more specialised qualifications or good experience)
