Tomorrow evening I have a meeting via telephone with a possible employer for a scientific internship. I was recommended to this scientist by a family member. The scientist then set up this phone meeting. I am a junior in college and I am a complete novice to these situations. What do I talk about? How can I make it so this is not a stiff, awkward conversation? I want to get the scientist to like me and want to hire me. I don't think it is going to be a formal interview; I believe that he is eventually going to give me the number of another scientist who is in charge of the internships.
With this information, what should I say tomorrow? My main goal is to prevent awkwardness and get the man to want me to work for his company.
Thanks in advance for all the help!
