When I look in the mirror I look okay, and when I take a picture with my phone or laptop I look fine. But my mom has a really nice camera and whenever she takes pictures of me with it, I look HORRIBLE. It's not my skin or anything, but my whole head/face looks TOTALLY different. My eyes look weird and small and my face is extremely short and it looks like I have a baby face, and totally disproportionate. Why might this be??? It's defiantly not the quality of the camera because she has one of the best cameras out there. I'm scared that my mirror and other cameras lie to me and thats what people actually see... :( Do you think it could be the angle of the camera?? What do you think??? thanks!

what you see is totally different from what others see
it's not in the camera. it's in the photographer. in other words, perspective, lighting and composition. the better quality camera is picking up more detail (flaws) that the cell phone doesn't. lighting is the biggest thing. if you don't know how to compose a pictrue, you can use the best camera in the world and still take crap pics.
have her take pics with lighting more from the side. if she has a removable flash you can use that as a 'remote flash' from varying angles. that gets great results and is a lot of fun
it depends on everything: the light, the flash , the angle. You should try some more. I look good with professional cameras but i dont always look good with normal cameras. i also look better without flash.
