You should definitely continue them, I think you may discover a passion for them as you grow older.

However, for college apps, maybe it's a good idea to start your own Debate Club in high school and discuss a subject at each weekly(?) meeting such as: death penalty, gay marriage, abortion, taxes, etc.....

That way, you have something legit to put on your app.

But I love debates too!
