IRR transfer?
I have drilled in the ARNG for 6 years. As an officer I have an 8 year obligation. I owe no time for bonuses or such. I want to transfer to the IRR for my final 2 years and my unit said they will fight it. There is currently no "stop loss" in place. What can I do to ensure transfer to the IRR?
Sorry Dude but I just read it today. Go to AR 140-10 Chapter 4 Section 2 Paragraph 4-4 You will find you answer. You did your duty and you continue to do so in a different area. Go for it! All they can do is say no but they need a good answer to shootdown your request so be care how you word it.

It's the military. They don't need any reason to shoot down a request. As an officer you're aware that you don't need to justify reasoning to subordinates.
I've been trying for a little over a year to transfer into the IRR... I'm enlisted and my 8 yr contract ends next december... guess I'll be drilling til then...
