My last period was August 17-22. My boyfriend and I engaged in unprotected sex almost everyday since August 23 and would do the pull out method. Until two days ago, when we actually decided not to do the pull out method. I started having tender breasts a few days before that, the same thing happened last month before I started my period. I took a pregnancy test two days ago in the morning, because my boyfriend kept telling me I was pregnant, that he could tell, even though I thought otherwise, we did do it while I was ovulating, so I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. Since I have irregular periods I am not sure when I should take a pregnancy test, and if the tender breasts is a sign of my period coming on time for the first time in a long time, or early pregnancy symptom, or if I took the test too early.. So I guess that is my question, when should I take a pregnancy test with irregular periods, (for future reference as well) and can I get pregnant on a day that I'm not ovulating on even if he went inside? I live with my boyfriend, and I am old enough too know what happens, and we would be more than happy too find out we are expecting. Thank you!

yes you can get pregnant even on the day you are not ovulating because his sperm can live in you for a couple of days. so if you do ovulate and have sperm already in you then if jsut one meets up with your egg then you can get pregnant for sure. i had irregular periods before i had my son. i remember the first day of the last period i had that year was on october 10th. i took a test november 10th and it came out positive. i went to the doc the next day to confirm and she said i was already 6 weeks along. since i didnt know if i was really late for my period of if it was jsut taking longer that month i used a first rsponse digital test. you could have tested a little too early, but if you dont get your period within another week i would take another test and do it in the morning like you did. good luck and hope evrything works out!
Well first yes you can can pregnant at any time of the month, you do not have to be ovulating. (most women are unaware of what days they ovulate anyways) It might be to early to tell, how irregular are your periods? Go along that if you get a period every two weeks then you should be due for one and have missed it. I would wait a couple of days and take the first step pregnancy test. Use your first urine of the day that's when the pregnancy hormone is the strongest. Good Luck!!!
