I had one of these in my first gaming computer. I thought that because it was faster, it had to be better right. This is not the case. The celeron is quite a poor processor. I did tests on them. I had a celeron 3.0ghz and a pentium 4 2.4 ghz and the pentium 4 played the same game at 1.5 to twice the framerate and apps opened up anywhere from 5-20 seconds sooner. Now i have a 3.0 ghz pentium 4 with hyperthreading and it is fast. I am still playing all the newest games out there (not on high of course). So what im saying is if you have a pentium 4 keep it, it a better cpu with more L2 memory which makes a huge difference. Hope i helped ya.
It's a bit on the pokey side in comparison to a recent processor. The light cache on the Celeron really shows its weakness in games and any real processing (like heavy multi-tasking, etc.).
My best computer at the moment is a 2.8 Celeron. It's a few years old and probably won't play the latest games, but it can do most other things.
Yes its an OKAY processor. Just OKAY though. I think the bigger issue we have here is your OCD what with 30 computers and parts.
