Comodo is very good in firewall but not very well in anti-virus. If you want to use free anti-virus, you can try avast! Free anti-virus, Avira or Microsoft Security Essential.

Sometimes, some programs/software need the Windows component (e.g, explorer.exe) to execute some command and Comodo will detect and ask for you permission. If you trust the programs just allow it.

Definitely its a safe and good anti virus, and also a most lovable anti virus preferred by lot of anti virus users.
