A waiter dropped it in a pitcher of sangria at a restaurant... i grabbed for it pretty fast so it was only half way in for about 5 seconds. And then i turned it on and it was working fine. I probably took 10 or 15 more pictures that night so i assumed it was fine. I forgot about it and went to bed and left it in the case. The next morning i woke up to look at my pics and it wouldn't turn on. I charged the battery and when i put it in the operation light on the camera comes on but is orange and then fades to light green and nothing else happens... the screen won't turn on and the lens won't move or anything.... can anyone tell me if my camera is trash or do i just need a new battery or something?

the problem wasn't the liquid, it was what was in the liquid.
since there is nothing to loose at this point
Short of total disassembly I would try this.
remove anything that comes off.
memory, battery, etc.
soak it in denatured alcohol for 1/2 hour- then
soak it in warm water for a 1/2 hour.
agitate it while u are at it.
shake all the liquid out that u can
then let it dry someplace warm and dry with air flow - not hot - for a very long time - maybe a week. shake periodically.
Obviously it would be better if it were disassembled.
we cleaned all to-be-repaired electronic equipment by putting them in a dishwasher, then into a heat chamber for 24 hours - but they were totally disassembled.
my phone accidnetly dropped into the street gutter during a storm - got soaked. I disassembled it and let it dry - works fine. u need to get sticky sangria out of there, else it will eat it up.
good luck - let me know how it turns out.
