Opera was recently asked why she did not allow white girls into her school in Afarica. Her responce was " I don't think I have to appease the white people in afarica." That comment was aimed directly at white society in america. She must have felt safe in Afarica and just let her true thoughts flow. If opera is such a good person and truely wanted to help people, then she would not discriminate against the girls who have different skin color than herself. Opera has fought for civil rights for all these years and now she has took a giant leap backwards. I also think she is a little sexist too. I am sure there are poor boys in afarica that need help too. Just remember Opera wants to help, but only wants to help those who are like her. She has such power and influence but yet she can't use it for the greater good of humanity, but only for those who are like her. What kind of message is this sending to all people of other races? Is she racist?

Her school is not for poor black African girls, it is for African girlz (black & white) girlz, full stop. And the white people in Africa are no better off that the black people there.The richest people in Africa are not white...the top 20 even are not white.Oprah has helped so many white people as well and by the way, she never said white people could not go to the school as well by the way. Question: Is President Bush racist? Loads of people lost everything they had with hurricane Katrina.Gov't did nothing to restore them back to close to their original state. Oprah with the help of volunteers (whites as well as blacks) built estates for a whole lot of them and made a statement:'If the they wouldn't help us, we'll help ourselves' She took it upon herself to help a group of people no one would have otherwise, why is that racist?
I don't think opera is racist, I confess that I don't understand most of it but to each his own. What does opera have to do with little black girls in Africa or little children in Africa at all for that matter. I would think they would do better at other studies before opera.
Oh, did you mean Oprah? Sorry, your a bit confusing. Who really cares. She is very wealthy and I don't even watch her, let her spend her money as she chooses. You would if you had it.
Of course she is racist, But she should consider where her wealth comes from, all races, Funny how people want, and should have, equality, but but having acheieved great success only want to help their own race.

PUHLEAZE - - white people in Africa are normally rich (or well off )and attend the diplomatic schools. They dont need to go to Oprah's school. Her school is for POOR african girls who have no school nearby.
