Hello,
I am looking to start playing the guitar (self-learn) and I was wondering if Yamaha was a good guitar for a beginner. It doesn't have to be complete beginner because I dont want it to suck once i get good. Please take a look at this one.

I want it to last even when I become intermediate or advanced.
Looking forward to your opinions! =]

Yamaha makes really bad electric guitars i would not recomed getting one a good cheap company for guitars are washburn, squier, or epiphone. Yamaha does make some descent acoustic guitars for their prices but i would never buy a yamaha electric guitar.
I think you should get some sort of epiphone.
good luck
I like the Yamaha's, especially for beginners....that is the acoustic or classical....I've never heard a Yamaha electric....I had a classical Yamaha thirty years ago and to this day that guitar sounds great, I've always said that this guitar was like a fine wine, it got better with age....I can still play it along with Cd's and the tone is still unbelievable. Recently about six months ago I played a Yamaha acoustic and I was really surprised at the sound of it, for an inexpensive guitar I though that it had a great sound for someone beginning guitar....in fact I bought one for someone in my family, it was in the $200.00 range on sale, they have come along way with there acoustic sound.....Go play and few, and you be the judge !!!!!!!!!
Yamaha makes great band instruments, but I'm not sure about guitar. I've heard good things, but I want to suggest some things:
If you want a quality instrument to last you that long, DO NOT buy from a department store. Ever. It won't last you for as long as you want---you'll have to shell out the big bucks now if you want it to last you awhile.
