You are already in the way to RE-COVER it back... many do not even realize it. Congratulations, once you are conscious of the prob you are 90% close to the solution. :) Do not depair...we all go through cycles and RE-MEMBER the little things in life can help you recover it:)
Join the club - i lost mine also, and once you lose it, it is tough to get it back! I think the key is to get out and start accomplishing things - start small, however, so you can build on repeated successes. Why not pick an area which has been causing you the most trouble and loss of respect, and which you think you can work on? For example, if you think you are lazy, you could start by washing the dishes and getting the kitchen looking good. Resist the temptation to tacking big projects for a while: that's the royal road to failure and even greater loss of self esteem: just take it a little at a time and build up some momentum. If you slip up, don;t sweat it: you can't succeed each and every time - nobody can. Just pick up where you left off and keep on truckin'
Well, the key probably lies in how you lost it in the first place. What did you do, and can you avoid doing that again? Maybe you can do something good or nice to someone else to kind of "repent" the damage? Or maybe challenge yourself to do something that have scared you in the past or that you think will be hard to manage, to kind of get your self esteem up a little, to make you feel a bit better about yourself.
You didn't lose your self respect you just misplaced it. Just remember you are worth so much and anyone who tells you otherwise is just a jackass who doesn't know what they are talking about.
And what you think of yourself is how other will see you. so just respect yourself and love yourself for the incredible great person you are.
Pray, take care of yourself, do what you are interested in, hang out with friends if possible and listen to good music. Most importantly, trust that you can and will regain it.
it will depend on what you have done, we've all dont things we've been ashamed of, i've done things that have made me cringe the next morning, i just dont do it again and forget it, learn by your mistakes

Respect others (not that hard you just need to try and once you do others will respect you)

Have standards and believe in yourself. Don't let others control and manipulate you.
Get a job or hobby and work hard at it.
