Try Tim at Yeager's Auto Salvage in Harrison, AR. www.yeagerauto.com, I have ordered many parts from them over the years and they will stand behind them. Great bunch of folks. This is would be my first and last call.
You need to find out if you have the 231 or 242. If you have full time 4wd in addition to part time, its the 242, otherwise the 231. 231s can be found everywhere, you're best bet is a junkyard, craigslist or jeep forums. The 242 can be sound in the same locations, but is more rare and slightly more expensive.
Most transfer cases bolt right up to the back of the transmission. Not hard to change. You will have to take the driveshafts off, remove the shifter lever (unless it has push button) Might be a wire harness or speedometer cable, and the mounting bolts. Time wise depends upon your tool inventory. With impacts etc not very long. If you have to turn everything by hand plan on a couple of hours at least.
This is very easy first and foremost you will be required to find out if you have a 231 or 242 transfer case. You can simply find it on ebay, craigslist, or any junkyard shop.
