Do you realsie that writing in capitals is regarded as shouting/ screaming? You're the only one who seems to be doing any screaming!
That aside, you should take as long off as you need. But, more importantly, you will have to put your baby's needs first- if they need you to be with them then that is what you, as a mother, will have to do. When you're a mother you, your life, your acitivities and everything else that was once a priority in your life take a back seat to your baby's needs. So, whilst you may be ready to go back after a few days your baby will need its mum at home.
If at all possible, you should try to take at LEAST 6-8 weeks. It will take you that long to recover fully from the birth, get breastfeeding well established and a small stash of breastmilk put away in the freezer, and get baby past the most erratic and stressful weeks of the newborn period. (Most 6-8 week olds are sleeping at least one longish (4-6 hours) stretch at night.)
If, however, you can't be away that long -- you do the best you can. I'd say 2-3 weeks would be the ABSOLUTE bare minimum.
When do you HAVE to go back? How much time are you interested in taking to be with your baby? At the bare minimum, 6 weeks. Longer if you can manage it.
