hi everyone, im considering buying an ESP LTD JH600, ( the jeff hanneman model), now the only thing putting me off is the Kahler tremolo, now i have already a dean that has a floyd rose, however, i find string changes on it a pain and, on the few occasions its needed to be retuned its been a pain in the neck, i wondered if its the same with kahler, is it quick to change strings, and then get them in tune, or should i just not bother with it and get a fixed bridge instrument?

I've never used one, but have done much research on various tremolo systems trying to find the best for
after market installation.
The Kahler is a Cam operated system rather than a floating Spring tension tremelo like Floyd Rose or Strat vintage types.
the Kahler won't have some of the issues that spring tension tremolos will.
Here's a forum on exactly what you are asking:

I think you'll be happy with what you see.
I also like the Stetsbar tremolo system, which is similar to the Kahler but easier to mount in existing guitars with a fixed bridge.
The kahler is just like the rose as far as stringing/tuning.
