It appears that few if any Kenmore appliances are actually made by Sears.

If you seach +Kenmore +"Heat Pump",

then you will find postings about or by Kenmore installers removing actual manufacturers' stickers off of heat pumps and other central air products

and then pasting Kenmore stickers on the equipment.

My recommendation is BEFORE purchasing a "Kenmore" appliance,

make sure you receive a copy of the owner's and service manuals

BEFORE paying any money or signing any contracts or paperwork.

Apparently some Sears/Kenmore salespeople have engaged in deceptive sales practices in the past, saying you will receive the "Best" Kenmore model when actually you are getting an economy or value model made by another manufacturer.

Kenmore UltraWash Model 665.15821691. In 1997, my husband and I bought this “state-of-the-art” dishwasher from our local Sears retail store. It still runs and washes dishes wonderfully today. It is very quiet and has powerful sprayers below both the upper rack and the lower rack. Because we have hard water (lots of limestone in the water table), our racks themselves have become brittle and many of the tines or spikes have broken off.

We contacted the local dealer and found out they cost more than one hundred dollars ($100) each to replace. So, we have to be creative when loading dishes in places, but the dishwasher still runs a clean, sparkling load. The dishwasher has a heavy-duty cycle for pots and pans as well as a “quick rinse” cycle that is excellent for softening stuck on food.

The water miser cycle is an excellent quick wash for dishes out of storage. One unique feature of the dishwasher is that if you’re hot water heater is out of hot water or even just running low, it will hold the water in a reservoir and heat the water before running the cycles. This ensures you always have hot water for you dishes. Kenmore appliances (for our family at least) have been extremely reliable and cost effective. I would caution against purchasing the extended warranties.

As soon as you get home with your purchase, the warranty company will start calling with “great” offers to upgrade and extend your warranty. We are very pleased with the water-saving features of the dishwasher and appreciate the delay wash setting.

Once the dishwasher is loaded, we set it to begin washing at night year round. When we built our house, we included a slot in our custom cabinets that placed the dishwasher off of the floor about two feet.

This allows easy loading and unloading without constantly having to bend over. And this model comes with a customizing kit to add a door panel to match your cabinets.
