I know that every girl is different but that you need a certain amount of body fat to have your period. Generally, what is that weight? Is there an average or minimum?
and is it normal to be late on my period? I'm 15 and never had any sexual contact so I'm definatly not pregnant or with an STD.
I'm a bit worried about if there is a weight-corrolation
Update:I'm sorry if this wasn't clear but I already HAD my first period at like 13. I mean that this months period seems to be rally late and I was wondering if a dip in weight may account for it

I started early this year (14 years) and i was only a little bit over 80 pounds, so im not sure about a minimum weight. I heard that if you are really active and do lots of sports that sometimes that can contribute to getting your period a little later. And i think its normal to be late for a while until the cycle regulates. I didnt get my 2nd one til about 5 months after my first one, and then another 2 months after that.
I was 15 when I started and weighed 90 pounds. My mom was 16.If your worried about it talk to a doctor.
i didn't get mine until i was almost 15. weight shouldn't be an issue unless you're extremely underweight, at least under 95 pounds or so. it's totally fine to get it even up to being 17 or so, even if it's rare. ask your mom when she got hers to help you know. and mostly, enjoy not having such a hassle!
