I say trace back your roots and go to Vegas. You're saying you miss Cali now but if you go to LA, you'll probably end up regretting not visiting the city where you grew up (I get the feeling that you haven't gone in quite a long time). And also, while both cities are equally special in their own way, Vegas is much smaller than LA so you could do and see a lot more with your seven days.

With 7 days you do have time to do both... it's only a 4 hour drive a part.

Sounds like your heart is really set on Las Vegas though... so if you really only want to do one, then do Vegas.

I'd go to California and drive to Vegas for a couple of days. Las Vegas is becoming a 'greedy place'... :)

I would go to Las Vegas since you are from there but if you stay in hotels and casinos than be aware that all hotels and casinos have bed bugs. My aunt found a website in April 2011, that list all hotels and casinos in Las Vegas have bed bugs.

Do majority in Calif. Last 48 hours in Vegas if you can. Vegas just sucks your wallets money out. And hangovers galore with travelers diahrea.
