Left 4 Dead multiplayer?
I know there are two multiplayer modes online on Left 4 Dead (co-op and versus), but how does it all work? Can you play with anyone over the internet, or is it just with friends that you know the IP addresses of? Or is it something else?

in Left 4 Dead when you play online you are randomly put on a team with other players from all around the world who are waiting for a match to start.
you can play with anyone on the internet just send them your ip add but its best the you use atleast 1 gaming platform like Garena since your ip address changes

since its on the pc, you SHOULD be able to pick your own server to play on, unlike the 360, and you can play with friends if you send a few invites.
You can join a game in progress with whoever, join a lobby and play with whoever, or invite friends to a game.
