some colleges, hospitals, or ambulance services offer the classes... you do have to pay for them unless a service sends you to them.. when you pass, you will receive a certificate and a wallet card stating that you have passed and are a nationally registered emt..
you will pay for class, books, supplies, national test, background checks, and possibly other things..
You can take the EMT class at just about any community or junior college. Make sure at the end of the class they offer the test for either your county or state certification. When I took the class it was 1 semester long and I became certified for the county that I worked in. Good luck and have fun.
3) I have a traffic related Misdemeanor from 2004, and was arrested, and arrested again for a bench warrant in Febuary 2007 stemming from that case. that will most likely be your biggest issue, once they run your criminal background check....... depending on the particulars of the case, but most of the time when that comes back with prior charges(and convictions) your app get's tossed..... you have to be bondable for civil service........
