Unless lightness and portability are of supreme importance, I'd go for the MBP. More CPU power, storage plus optical drive. Same Intel HD3000 Graphics. I have a 13" MBP and it does everything I need it to do. It's not the best for video encoding or hard core photo editing, so if you want that, get a desktop. Also, only having 2 USB ports is ridiculous, so get yourself a hub.

MacBook Pros are better than the MacBook Airs - more hard drive space and they're generally better computers.
