I am looking for a new laptop. I would really prefer to get a mac instead of a pc. I need a really fast processor and lots of ram. I don't need much of a hard drive at all. I have heard that the airs are clumsy and dont run well. I need your opinion on what you think the best model would be under these circumstances. 10 points will be awarded.

Definitely not the air, my main problem with the MacBook Air is the lack of a CD/DVD drive which I need on an everyday basis.
I am currently using a new MacBook running Leopard with 2.4 GHZ and a 160GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM. I love it. I also have a iMac running Leopard with 2.8GHZ and a 500GHZ hard drive and 2GB of RAM.
The MacBook works great for me and has plenty of space to store all my stuff. If you are looking mainly for speed, this is also great. However, the MacBook Pro would be a better choice for pure speed but that comes with a large price difference.
I suggest the MacBook Pro for you. However, I have an interesting suggestion, get it Refurbished straight from Apple.
Refurbished Mac's are just like brand new ones and come in the retail packaging as well. Everything looks and runs like a brand new computer with a refurbished Mac and it knocks hundreds off the price tag.
Go with the MacBook Pro for speed and Ram, if you don't mind the price.
If that's too expensive, go with the MacBook - You'll Love It.
Any Mac is a good choice, but avoid the Air unless the dimensions are a necessity.
Good Luck!
I think a MacBook Pro would be nice for you, or perhaps one of the more expensive MacBooks. But don't get a MacBook Air.
my sister started to cry when she saw the macbook pro.
she loves it so much
my cousins have the macbook it is not as light as the macbook pro
macbook pro indeed
alright don't go for the air. cool yes but only has one usb no optical drive... So i would go for the new pro,
