Today, I tried logging in to mail.com and it says my user name/password is incorrect... so I try logging into another name I have on mail.com and gave me the same thing. And again with my third address (Each address is used for something different).
It worked this morning, but now it's not working. And now it goes to a page saying the connection was timed out because The server at www2.mail.com is taking too long to respond. and yes there is supposed to be a 2 there.
Any known reason why it's doing this...
I think it might be because it's busy maybe, but I don't know
All I know is that I HAVE to check an e-mail asap for my senior pictures!!!

Odds are the server is maybe under some kind of work; or they're updating/testing security features in their login service. My boss uses mail.com (God knows why) and we just checked his e-mail and it was fine; try to do it again.
Since it timed out I assume the server and login service were down, if you're sure it worked before and you have used the same name/password to login I wouldn't worry, just wait a little, go back to the gateway http://www.mail.com/ and try again.
If you want to be extra cautious, clean your temp files/cookies/cache (Internet Tools -> Clear Temporary Files) and try again. :)

Facebook has been doing some updates as of yesterday. They already accomplished tweaking the Game Update feature if you hadn't already noticed, which was the reason for downtime yesterday. It shouldn't take long. :) During this might you might experience blank pages, pages saying "server could not be reached," broken links, glitchy features, slow performance, prompts to download Facebook pages, etc. This is normal; just be patient. Contrary to some other answers, a) its servers have not been hit by lightning because that's not possible, b) it's not the end of the world, c) its servers have not "shut down" or whatever - upgrading the website does NOT mean the servers were shut down, and d) it's not happening to everyone - Facebook usually updates some servers at one point, and then others at other times. Facebook might be down in one country or region and up in another. THIS IS MY ORIGINAL ANSWER. Can "Joe Birch" and "Jnscz" PLEASE stop copying and pasting my answers?! Thank you.
Sorry i cant tell you why its doing that, but its doing that to me too, so your not the only one.
