Go with the Princess ship, it's much nicer. I have cruised on the Star and it's a really old ship that cruised in Asia for a while and then was brought to the US ports and renamed the Star. I cruised the Mexican Riviera on it and it was OK but you can have much more fun and enjoyment on the Princess ship as it will have better amenities. Princess ships are all some of the best out there.

I agree with Tinkertoy. I have been on both lines multiple times and I would go with Princess. You have to keep in mind that even though NCL is priced a bit lower all of the good restaurants on NCL are surcharged so you need to factor that into the cost as well. Also if you do not like noisy spaces NCL will be more of a vibrant party type atmosphere. Princess will also be fun and have areas to party but is is more of a casual elegance.

go on the ncl Star. i went on that ship roundtrip Los Angeles. and went to ports Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. i had an awesome time and the crew was very friendly. i was always entertained onboared. NCL is my favorite cruise line
