Does anyone in Minnesota know?
Is it legal not to show a cop I.D. if they don't tell you they at detaining you?
If you refuse a search, and there is proven to be no cause, before a cop says you are being detained, can they touch you in any way?
Update:There was no fighting intill I was asulted by the officer, I call that self defence.

If a police officer asks for I.D. you are compelled to provide it. If you don't you could be detained. It doesn't matter if there's no evidence in the end, If an officer has probable cause that something incriminating can be found, they have carte blanche to search. If you fight them, they can use force on you.
