it has new batteries and i even got another remote to try and it wont program to my car. i think its the sensor on my car thats broken, wherever that is. any ideas on the problem and specifically how to fix it please?

yes, replace the sensor. If there is a cheaper alternative, start with that first. No need to spend more than you have to. Check the wiring to the module, to make sure it has power. With a 12 year old car, electrical problems will be somewhat common. Good Luck
i think of those wires substitute into for a lighted key hollow on it,maximum of those stopped working however while that part of it burnt out,a number of them had the activation change additionally for the alarm gadget on them,good success.
