Was it working before; or is this the first time this monitor has been connected?
Check the BIOS settings to make sure it is set up correctly for your monitor.
Silly question: Is there another monitor in your house to try? If the other monitor works with the 5000, then you know the video card is OK.
Sounds like you have changed the memory.
Make sure it's the correct type.
Try taking the memory out and clean the contacts with a dry t-shirt and reinstall it by pushing the memory into the connector with two hands to insure propper force at both sides of the stick. Don't forget to make sure the spacers on the connector line up with the slots on the memory stick first. Then reboot.
Should work.
