my computer has a trojan virus "Microsoft security essentials alert"?
my computer has a trojan on it, a message keeps popping up when i try to access the internet " Microsoft Security Essentials Alert" since i am unable to access the internet how do i remove the trojan?
well you could go and buy an antivirus or internet security suite, or you could format your hdd using your operating system disc and install a new copy
Hi mse doesnt have as good detection rate as avast! so do the following to protect yourself again (i think you have the fake mse beacuse it's made to scam you)
1) start your computer when your company logo comes up tap f8 on your keyboard
2) select safe mode with networking (your computer should look weird)
3) Download and install avast! and superantispyware (both free)
4) with the avast! it should update it self automatically but for superantispyware click on check for updates
5) Run a full system scan (leave you computer alone)
When it has found threats it should notify you.
If that doesnt work then do the following
1)start
2) in the search box type in system restore
3)then then open it choose a restore point clickfinish
Also watch your web browsing install this is a site adviser basicly when its green the sites safe when its yellow that means there are some bad things on there use with caution and red means really bad and might give you viruses heres the link
